I am truly honoured and humbled to have been approached to host and organise this golf for a young 15 year old local South Coast lad, Logan Potgieter who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Results of the PET scan show that the cancer has already spread to Logan’s bones and the lymph nodes in his chest are very large and pressing on arteries. Emergency chemotherapy has started.
His parents Anton & Jana Potgieter are long standing members of the South Coast community with Anton attending school here and the family living here for 25 years. Anton works for Bates Isuzu and Jana at Halfway Ford.
Logan is the only child of Anton and Jana Potgieter. He attended Izotsha Primary School and is now currently at Port Shepstone High School. Due to the extensive treatment he is undergoing he has had to be
pulled out of school as he simply cannot attend due to health reasons and the compromised immune system also plays a role.
Funds are needed for the medical bills that have started to “roll in”. There is a hospital plan in place but there is no gap cover which means there is a massive shortfall to cover the treatments.
Hodgkin's lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the body's germ-fighting immune system.
In Hodgkin's lymphoma, white blood cells called lymphocytes grow out of control, causing swollen lymph nodes and growths throughout the body.
I am looking for prizes – As it is a 4BBBS I need 2 x prizes of the same and any donation of prizes no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.
